What Should We See?

Howdy.

So, of course the goal of this site is to keep you informed of where we will be on this tour, and to give all of us the opportunity to communicate. I hope a lot of you will be posting comments and questions for us while we’re on the road, but before we kick this thing off, I wanted to throw something out there for you–

What should we see while we’re out there on the road?

One of my favorite things about traveling is getting to see new, and out of the way places and things. Some of my favorites to date:

Graceland Too, in Holly Springs, Mississippi–
You walk away from this place with one thing on your mind: Elvis. It’s unbelievable. Truly.

The Town Jam, in Floyd, Virginia–
Just when you think you’re finally becoming a good musician, go to Floyd on a Friday night, and watch a 7 year old play the mandolin better than anyone you’ve ever heard.

City Grocery, Oxford, Mississippi–
Shrimp and Cheese Grits. Greatest thing I have ever eaten in my life. Hands down.

The Style Station, north of Waco, Texas–
The coolest vintage clothing you can find, at a price that is friendly to all walks of life. I would wager that over 1/2 of my wardrobe came from this place.

Cadillac Ranch, Amarillo, Texas–
I always knew about it, and one day accidentally drove past it on my way to a gig, so we stopped and checked it out. Because, you know, where else are you going to find Cadillac’s buried nose down into the flatland earth?

Lucy the Elephant, Margate, New Jersey–
It’s an enormous elephant. Like, 5 stories high enormous. And you can climb the stairs inside of it and check out the view of the ocean from her back.

…you know, stuff like that. Check out our dates, think about the general direction we’ll be heading, and give us some ideas. A tour that consists of nothing but interstates and venues is no kind of tour at all, so help us out.
